evms foundationBOARD OFTRUSTEESR. Bruce Bradley, MBA Paul J. Farrell, BS Andrew S. Fine, JD Paul D. Fraim, JDEight Hampton Roads business and community leaders have joined the Board ofTrustees of the <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>School</strong> Foundation. The foundation raisedthe funds to establish EVMS and has supported the medical school ever since.The new trustees bring new energy tothe foundation, which organized in 1964,nine years before EVMS opened its doors.“This is a dynamic group of communityleaders who are committed to EVMS and itsmission,” says G. Robert Aston Jr., presidentand chairman of the EVMS Foundation andCEO and chairman of TowneBank.“They join an equally dedicated group ofindividuals who have worked on behalf ofthe school for decades. Together we willbuild on our previous successes and provideinvaluable support for EVMS initiatives thatbenefit the entire community.”New to the Board ofTrustees are:R. Bruce Bradley, recently retired as presidentof Landmark Publishing Group. The groupoversees The <strong>Virginia</strong>n-Pilot and other daily andcommunity newspapers owned by NorfolkbasedLandmark Communications Inc.Bradley began his career at The <strong>Virginia</strong>n-Pilot in sales and subsequently heldnumerous positions, including presidentand publisher.Bradley holds a bachelor’s degree inbusiness administration from VillanovaUniversity and an MBA from Old DominionUniversity. Bradley is a past chairman of theHampton Roads Chamber of Commerce,the Hampton Roads YMCA and theHampton Roads Partnership.Paul J. Farrell, founder and president of theChesapeake construction firm Rosewell Homes.The company builds homes, commercialand investment properties and apartments.Farrell holds a bachelor’s degree from<strong>Virginia</strong> Tech and has been in the buildingbusiness since 1963. He is a former presidentof the Tidewater Builders Association andformer chair of the United Way campaignfor the city of Chesapeake. He is a boardmember of the ACCESS College Foundationand the <strong>Virginia</strong> Beach Foundation andserves as chairman of the TowneBankFinancial Services Board.Andrew S. Fine, president of TheRunnymede Corporation, a <strong>Virginia</strong> Beachcommercial real estate development andmanagement firm. He is a retired generaldistrict court judge and former rector ofthe EVMS Board of Visitors.Fine holds a bachelor’s degree fromBrown University and a law degree fromthe University of <strong>Virginia</strong>. He is a formerchairman of the board of the ChryslerMuseum of Art and Workforce Developmentof South Hampton Roads, as well as formerchairman and president of the <strong>Virginia</strong> BeachFoundation.
