Letter From the Executive DirectorA time for thanks – as we move rapidly into the Holiday Season, it isonly appropriate that I take the time to thank all of you, Cheyenne AnimalShelter supporters, for the extreme kindness and generosity you show theorphaned animals here in southeastern Wyoming.Over the nearly four years that I havebeen in Cheyenne I have personally observedtime and time again the generosity that thiscommunity has for its fellow citizens, both twoleggedand four-legged. I cannot possibly mentionall of the individuals and businesses thathave donated their time and/or money to theshelter in the limited space I have here. Still,I could not resist bragging about a few recentones (others will be mentioned as always inthis newsletter). You may have seen in the local mediaover the last month or so that the Shelter hasbeen blessed with several different types of donations. Thanks to somevery generous people taking a few seconds each day to vote online for theCheyenne Animal Shelter, the C.A.S. has won three straight statewide competitionstotaling $3,000.00 to be used to care for our orphaned animals. This competition is international in scope and titled the Shelter Challenge;if you would like to join in on the voting just go to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/shelterchallenge.faces?siteId=3and follow thedirections. You can also email me at rick@cheyenneanimalshelter.org and Iwill put you on my email reminder list. This competition is sponsored by theAnimal Rescue Site and Petfinder and runs quarterly throughout the year. The Shelter was also fortunate to again be selected to receive the proceeds($300.00) from Alpine Dental’s “Candy to Military, Money to Shelter Drive”.Thank you to Dr. Gallagher and her employees for their on-going generosity. What is so exciting about all of the above mentioned gifts is that theycome from such diverse sources!Whether it be a child who is having a birthday party and asking theinvitees to give presents to the animals at the shelter in lieu of gifts to himor her, or a person picking up an injured kitten on the side of the road andbringing that kitten to the shelter – it just shows how very concerned theresidents of Laramie County are about their community and the animalsthat share it with them.I know I speak from all of us here at the shelter, including the thousandsof needy animals that pass through our doors each year, when I saythank you…Have a happy and safe holiday season.Rick CollordBoard of DirectorsJerry EggePresidentMax MaxfieldVice PresidentHeather FrauendienstTreasurerLynn BoakAssistant TreasurerJanet MarschnerSecretaryWard AndersonBrad CaveMichele HankinsHolly HansonChloe IllowayPhil KinerKathy MajerusBo ShortDusty TheinDeb WalkerShelter ManagementRick CollordExecutive DirectorRob ShankShelter ManagerBaylie EvansCommunity RelationsTori MenardBookkeeperStarr MezaHuman ResourcesBrock C.
