National Director’s Report – Maria Berry (attached)Promotion: Sara and Jesse did a presentation at Horse 3. We want to do a physicaldemonstration next year. Need to increase membership.Join the Education Facebook Page.5. Financial Report – Leslie Wishart (attached)5.1 Updated financial reportMembers who need travel grants for 2011 and 2012 should reapply now to Leslie. Alsosend 2013 applications now, but grants will not be issued until after the events.5.2 Budgeting for 20135.3 Head fees for 2014 Motion: Leslie Wishart/Marilyn FunkThat the MPC head fees for 2014 will be $50. Cd.National Head fees are set at $80 for 2014.For Branches where the $20 calendar levy was added to the fees, there will be no actual increasein fees.Val will talk to Shelley about a Regional Calendar/day planner.6. Karen McLean must also receive a copy.7. Discipline Reports7.1 Dressage – Megan MacLean (attached)7.1.1. Regional Dressage Championships in conjunction with Summer in the City.7.1.2 National Dressage in ABS. ABS is accepting affiliates. Kerry will be informed.Check to make sure our show is listed as a qualifier for the MEC.7.2 Education – Karen McLean (attached)7.2.1. Evaluation Clinics7.2.2. Winter mini clinics7.2.3 Youth Ed Conference Motion: Deb Shepherd/Karen McLeanThat the Youth Education Initiative be held at Camp Assiniboia February 21-23, 2014. Cd.Kit will contact Camp Assiniboia to confirm our reservation and will get a cheque from Leslie forthe deposit.DC’s to check with parents to find out how many kids might be willing to go and get back to her bythe end of April.7.3 Rally – Val Crowe7.3.1. National Rally update – it is very unlikely there will be a National Rally in 2013.7.3.2. Regional Rally updateWe have most of the officials in place. If any Branches have older members whowould like to train as SM judges, please send their names to Val. Fees willremain approximately the same as last year. For an extra fee, riders may alsoparticipate in the open HT.7.4 Quiz – Bev Moore (attached)7.4.1 Regional QuizVery successful.7.4.2 National Quiz 2013Team has purchased their airline tickets. Leslie will send out bills to eachmember.7.5 Show Jumping – Suzanne Pankratz (attached)7.5.1 Regional Show Jumping ChampionshipsMay run a 50/50 draw to raise funds.7.5.2 National Show JumpingForms and information are now available. Suzanne has a copy for herself andone for Jesse.Val will contact Glovers regarding donation for Championships.Val will contact Cheryl to see if there were any extra ribbons left over from the ShowJumping Championships last year..7.6 Testing – Karen MacLean (attached)7.6.1. Examiners Clinic – may have sessions at the Youth Education Initiative.7.6.2. Request for testing C2 and above – see the list in the report.8. Other Reports8.1 Communications/Web Site – Debbie ShepherdBits N Pieces – May 7 th deadline


8.2 Youth – Jennifer Hammond/Shannon MacLeanNo report at this time. Shannon will contact the Branch Youth Reps and copy to theDC’s.8.3 Horse Council – Marilyn FunkMHC Member <strong>Club</strong>s – membership paid and forms submitted.<strong>Pony</strong> <strong>Club</strong> members should support the MEC. They can apply to participate in Dressage,Show Jumping and a Derby. There are also lots of western disciplines if any of our kidsare doing both.Sent out info on the Inter Provincial Competition.8.4 Camp – Kit AndersonExtra day in camp, move in July 13, lessons begin at 7:30 am on Sunday, July 14.Camping will be in a slightly different place, closer to the barns.Portage has given camp a $1000 hosting grant.Ashley Fudge, Jesse Good, Lesa Cafferty, Kelly Campbell will be the instructors.8.5 Banquet – Rhonda Hannah no report8.6 Equipment Manager – equipment is still housed at Leslie Wishart’s.9. Other Business9.1 Fundraising – Sobey’s CardsKaren Iverson will be sending out info on the next deadline for ordering.Shannon MacLean expressed interest in being on a fundraising committee.9.3 Regional Pin and ClothingStill need to find an alternate source for the clothing.Each Branch was given some of the new pins to sell. They must return any they don’tsell. Cost is $4.00 per pin.10. Next <strong>Meeting</strong>October 5, 2013 Portage Fair Board Office at 10:30.Kit will book the facility.11. AdjournmentThe meeting was adjourned at 3:27 pm.
