Heavy Duty 4-post lifts normally come in sizessuch as 18,000 lb. capacity, 27,000 lb. capacity, 35,000 lb. capacity and40,000 lb. capacity. You might also find heavy duty 4-post lifts rated at20,000 lb. capacity, 25,000 lb. capacity, or some variation thereof. TheAtlas MC7000 Mobile Column Lift and the Atlas MC9000 Mobile ColumnLift System have ratings of 7,000 lb. and 9,000 lb. per column respectively- for total capacities of 28,000 lb. and 36,000 lb. with four columns.The Atlas MC16000 , Atlas MC19000 and Atlas MC22500 have ratingssignificantly higher.That being said, all of the Atlas Mobile Column Lifts and Lift Systems offera significant advantage over the standard 4-post heavy duty lift.Advantages of Mobile Column Lift• Unlimited Wheel Base – some of the heavy duty fourpost lifts are offered in extended length versions forextra money. There is no need to spend extra money foran extended length version Mobile Column lifts – themobile column lifts are Mobile and therefore the wheelbase is essentially ‘limitless’.• Portability – heavy duty 4 post truck lifts are VERYcumbersome and take up lots of valuable shop space.An Atlas mobile column lift is portable. Enough said.• Price – Atlas mobile column lifts are priced at thesame price or lower than most heavy duty 4 post liftswith comparable capacities.SPECIAL NOTE: RATED PER COLUMNIt is important to remember that Atlas Mobile Column LiftSystems are rated per column. Your vehicle may only bea 28,000 lb. load, but if the load is unevenly distributed -for example with 16,000 lbs in the rear and only 12,000lbs in the front - the Atlas MC7000 Mobile Column Lift(with each column rated at 7,000 lbs for a total capacityof 14,000 lbs in the rear) would not suffice.
