BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

Recent investigations confirm that Silas Willard
Elementary School was founded more than 100
years ago by Silas Willard himself. Prior to our
demolition, the building itself was a potential
historical building candidate. The cost fo the
new facility is $16 million, which is built on
73,000 square feet. Initially, there was debate
over whether the school should be rebuilt or
remodeled. Thanks to our estimating group, it
turned out to be far more feasible to construct a
brand new school.
The new building consists of a cafeteria,
gymnasium, music / art room, and 33
classrooms. Over the next four months,
masonry, glazing, roofing, and interior
decorations will make up the majority of the
work.
Construction is estimated to be completed in
early 2016. Though the rain and severe winter
impeded progress of the exterior work, we have
already gotten half-way through the scope of
work, including:
• Footing and Foundations
• Steel Structure Erection
• Precast Wall Installation
• Plumbing Work Completion
• Decking and Detailing Finalization
• Implementation Divison 3 (concrete)
• Framing
