CONFERENCING & SPECIAL EVENTS<br />
Mission Statement<br />
The mission of the Conferencing & Special Events is to coordinate the efforts of<br />
various departments within <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong> which facilitate conferences and major<br />
campus events and to generate additional revenue for those departments within<br />
<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong>.<br />
Achievements & Accomplishment<br />
• Organized a summer camp and conferencing workgroup to improve summer<br />
programs that are hosted at the University of South Florida utilizing multiple<br />
departments within <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong>.<br />
• Coordinated 16 summer camps, including establishing relationships with two<br />
new summer camps.<br />
• Coordinated and executed the OACAC Conference for 1,110 people in July.<br />
Managed the conference budget of $750,000 and coordinated logistical details<br />
with the Marshall <strong>Student</strong> Center, Campus Recreation Center, Housing &<br />
Residential Education, Dining Services, University Police, Parking & Transportation<br />
Services, and Physical Plant.<br />
• Generated $420,754 in gross revenue, which due to sales revenue and low<br />
operating expenses, covered the operating expense for the department.<br />
• Collaborated with the Marshall <strong>Student</strong> Center to sell and service the meeting<br />
space for all non-university clients.<br />
