Maureen Egen Writers Exchange Award2011KansasApplicationEligible WritersKansas resident poets and fiction writers who:APPLICATION GUIDELINESPLEASE REVIEW ALL GUIDELINES CAREFULLY—INCORRECTLY SUBMITTED MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.1. Have never published a book, or;2. Have published* no more than one full-length book inthe genre in which they are applying, and;3. Have resided in Kansas for at least two years priorto the date they submit their manuscripts.Writers may apply in the poetry and/or fiction categories(only one manuscript per category).Writers may not be previous winners of contests sponsoredby Poets & Writers, Inc.Finalists will be asked to submit verification of publicationsand residency.Employees of Poets & Writers, Inc. are not eligible.*Self-published books do not count.AwardsOne Kansas poet and one Kansas fiction writer will beselected. The names of the winning writers will beannounced by April 15, 2011 on our Web site. Eachwinner will receive:1. A $500 honorarium;2. Published work must beretyped to conform with the rest of manuscript and shouldnot be identified as published work.All work must be original and written in English; translationsare not eligible.
