Unlike conventional all-wheeldrivetrucks with rear-axle dual tyres, <strong>the</strong><strong>Unimog</strong> is equipped with single tyres. Thismeans <strong>the</strong> rear tyres can follow in <strong>the</strong> tracks of<strong>the</strong> front tyres <strong>for</strong> lower roll resistance andmore traction. You can also choose from a wideassortment of tyres to fit your needs. Soyou are ideally equipped <strong>for</strong> every situation –whe<strong>the</strong>r it be on road, off-road, in snow or in acombined rail/road setting. For example, ifyou need to carry a heavy load, <strong>the</strong> MPTmulti-purpose tyre is perfect. Or if you have tonegotiate challenging terrain, deep-tread tyresprovide optimal traction.CTIS. Need to let out a little air while inmotion? It couldn’t be any easier thanks to <strong>the</strong>Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS). Simplypress <strong>the</strong> switch in <strong>the</strong> centre console andreduce <strong>the</strong> air pressure in one or both axles.You don’t even have to stop. With CTIS, youcan be sure that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Unimog</strong> won’t sink in softground and that you have optimum traction(roll resistance with a 1 cm tread depth isequivalent to a 1% incline). And when you getback on solid ground, you can increase <strong>the</strong> airpressure again. This reduces tyre wear, lowersoperating costs and improves driving stabilityand com<strong>for</strong>t.
