Harris Corporation’s exclusiveM-PATH feature provides multipledirectional connectivity between analog,digital and high-definition tape transportsor routing systems. Enabling simultaneousconverter and frame synchronizeroperation, M-PATH mode routes HDTVoptical fiber or HD-SDI and converts andsynchronizes directly to the SDTV analogand SDI video outputs, which feed theinputs of analog composite and componentand digital tape machines and routingsystems. For MPEG preprocessingapplications, this option providesentropy reduction prior to encoding.Closed-Captioning CapabilitiesAnother unique feature broadcasters willappreciate is programmable, line-by-line,vertical interval bypass for analog, digitaland HDTV signals. Closed Captioning (CC)in SDTV (EIA-608) on line 21 is transcodedto EIA-708 in VANC for HDTV when upconverting.Alternately, HDTV CC is transcodedto SDTV during down conversion. If DVBsubtitling is required, the X75 also processesvideo and DVB data during conversions.Testing, TestingThe X75 supports video test signals foranalog and digital. If the high-definitionupgrade is installed, high-definition videotest signals are supported. If one of theaudio options is installed, analog, digital(AES) and embedded test signals aresupported. An option to facilitate timingof video and audio using two X75converter/synchronizers in different locations(or a single X75 in a “loop-back”) allowsone to send a robust test signal for videoand audio and measure and correct for anyrelative changes in timing. This takes theguesswork out of lip sync correction.Designed for a Changing WorldWith firmware updates easily installed in thefield, the X75 is able to stand the test ofchallenging times, making it a solidinvestment for a transitioning market.Engineered for the Real WorldThe rugged, yet lightweight chassis is idealfor mobile use.
