We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of ‘Centre for Studiesin Social Sciences, Calcutta’ as at 31st March, 2010 and also theIncome & Expenditure Account of the Centre for the year ended onthat date annexed thereto. These financial statements are theresponsibility of the Centre’s management. Our responsibility is toexpress an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.2. We conducted our audit in accordance with auditing standards generallyaccepted in India. Those Standards require that we plan and performthe audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financialstatements are free of material misstatement. An audit includesexamining, on a test basis, evidence supporting the amounts anddisclosures in the financial statements. An audit also includes assessingthe accounting principles used and significant estimates made by themanagement, as well as, evaluating the overall financial statementpresentation. We believe that our audit provides a reasonable basisfor our opinion.3.
