ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declarationon the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers• AMM held on 30 July 2007 in Manila, Philippines agreed to establish an ASEAN Committee• The Committee, in accordance with the national laws, regulations, and policies of AMCwill serve as the focal point within ASEAN to coordinate the effective implementation of thecommitments made under the Declaration; and tofacilitate the development of an ASEAN instrument on the protection and promotion of the rightsof migrant workers.• The Committee- one senior representative from each of the AMC- a representative from the ASEAN Secretariat- be assisted by representatives from the concerned government agencies of each AMC- reports to SLOM- chaired by the representative of the country that holds the Chairmanship of the ASC- be provided secretarial support by the ASEAN Secretariat.
