Oncealongside, the total jetty monitoringand management system reallycomes into its own. Sensors monitormooring loads, wind speed, winddirection, oceanographic parametersand drift-off.In addition to the sensors, on-boardrepeaters communicated data via aship/shore fibre optic link or radiotelemetry that also accommodatesemergency shut down protocols andtelephone communication.Other repeaters are also availableand include tablet PCs, PDAs andpagers. PDAs and pagers can becertified for use in hazardous areas.The system can be configured as abasic array or designed as a totalsystem for a new facility.Strainstall are also able to retrofit orupgrade existing systems, and it isthis flexible yet integrated approachthat provides unique solutionswherever the critical functions ofjetty monitoring and managementare required.All these functions are integratedinto a PC based control roomdisplay system, which providesgraphic representation of all criticaldata, data logging and a systemprinter for ‘hands on’ information.
