But that's where thesimilarities end.Getting to schoolFor one thing,most Korean high school studentsgo to school by subway or publicbus, but most American studentseither ride yellow school buses ordrive cars to school. Mosthigh schools in the U.S.even have parking lots forstudents to park their cars.Books and thingsKorean studentscarry heavy book bags containing all oftheir books, pens, and other personal belongings.American students leave mostof their books and other things inside theirschool lockers. UNIT 2 COEDUCATIONCOEO VS SAME-SEXKorean elementary schoolsare coeducational , but mostmiddle and high schools are not. It'strue that boys and girls go to thesame schools, but they learn inseparate, same-sex classrooms.This means that Korean schools arecoeducational but the classes arenot.Many Korean students envy studentsin the U.S. and other westerncountries where both sexes studytogether.They think that theywould learn better if they couldstudy with members of the oppositesex.Most Korean teachers andparents disagree.Kissing in school Korean teacherswho like the present system saythat they don't need the problemsthat are caused by coeducation .One of these problems is teenageromance.
