Wewere both in total agreement that this wasthe one. A Warm WelcomeThe decorative front door, which has theoriginal stained glass panel still in place,opens into a central hallway, and to the leftis a lovely reception room that is currentlybeing used as an office, but has in the pastserved as a family dining room. To thecentre you have a wonderful open fireplacewith fitted bookcases either side, and in herethe sash windows have their original shutterboxes still intact. It is so sunny and spaciousand is perfect all year round. In the summerwe throw open the doors so that thegrandchildren can be in and out of thegarden, and in the winter we love to gatheraround the fire after a family roast.”Going UndergroundSteps leading down from the hall take youinto an underground family room that wasonce the cellar. It is a large room, and wasoriginally converted for use as a cinemaroom. “The children have taken this over astheir den, and they have their computers,games and a TV down there so they canshut themselves away if they want to.” Tothe other side of the inner hall is the largefamily kitchen, which again has French doorsleading out to the terrace. This is a fabulousspace with a fully fitted kitchen to one endand a large dining area to the other. “This isthe real heart of this home as it is such asociable space. We love to entertain, andfamily and friends can be gathered togetherwhilst we prepare the food, or the childrencan be sat up at the table chatting or doingtheir homework. It works really well as afamily space.”Garden PartyThe walled garden to the rear of theproperty is a true delight. A shelteredterrace runs along the back of the house andhere a table and chairs invites you to stepout of the kitchen to enjoy your coffee inthe morning sun.
