Technical aspectsAt metal temperatures above 600 ° C, the fly-ashcomponents with a low melt<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>t (vanadium,sodium, lead, potassium) form hard tenacious <strong>and</strong>corrosive deposits.Clean<strong>in</strong>g is difficult, but these deposits cause high draftlosses, decreased heat transfer <strong>and</strong> lower combustionefficiency.The metallic oxides <strong>in</strong> the <strong>PentoMag</strong> <strong>in</strong>creasethe melt<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>t of the above mentioned fuel oilcomponents by approx. 300°C to temperatures whichare well above the boiler temperatures.EconomiserAs a result, the high temperature section rema<strong>in</strong>s clean<strong>and</strong> free of corrosive deposits. The deposits are driedout, fried <strong>and</strong> of neutral to alkal<strong>in</strong>e pH. Economical aspectsFuel oil conta<strong>in</strong>s sulphur. In the past, this led touneconomical boiler operation with high exit gastemperatures between 140 <strong>and</strong> 180 ° C.
