Optimum sweeping style is inforward travel resulting in over-thebrushpickup. Certain conditions call fora dust pan method of sweeping, whichis accomplished in reverse travel.Cat Angle Brooms use a windrowingaction to move loose debris ahead andto the side of the surface being swept. They can be oriented straight or angledup to 30 degrees left or right of centerin forward travel.Cat Utility Brooms sweep and collectlight debris on smooth surfaces in forwardor reverse travel. They can be adjustedfor greater bristle down-force in toughapplications such as sweeping coursematerial out of a cold planer cut.Cat Brooms perform well on manytypes of surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, turf and snow. Caterpillar offersvarious brush types for maximumversatility in a variety of job conditions.Performance and VersatilityCaterpillar Brooms deliver maximumperformance and provide smooth, efficient operation when coupled toCat Skid Steer Loaders and MultiTerrain Loaders. Designed and builtto strict Caterpillar standards, theycarry with them the proven Caterpillarreputation for performance, versatilityand reliability.Pickup Broom Features:■ Pickup brooms are available intwo sweeping widths – the BP15B:1524 mm (60 in), and the BP18B:1829 mm (72 in). Both units operateon the machine’s standard flowhydraulics for maximum performance.■ Direct drive motors providemaximum performance and durability. Both units use a single variablespeed, bidirectional gerotor stylehydraulic motor, contained in aspecial housing that can be adjustedto compensate for bristle wear.■ Sight gauge on hopper hood ensuresproper positioning when operatingin forward travel and minimizes wearon bucket edge and bottom.■ Interior deflectors, rear bucket seal, and side brush stripping direct dirtand dust into the bucket and reducespillage and air-borne contaminants.■ Large hopper capacity allowsgreater productivity with longersweeping cycles before emptyingthe hopper.■ Wide bucket opening permits fast, efficient dumping.■ Dual chain and loader arm bracketsystem holds brush housinghorizontally when emptyingthe hopper.■ Heavy-duty low profile pneumaticguide wheel supports the hood duringsweeping.■ Polypropylene/wire convolutedbrushes provide optimum resultsfor all-purpose sweeping.■ Optional all-steel wire gutter brushmounted on left or right side ofbroom assists in removing materialfrom gutters and pavement edges.■ Optional all-polypropylene andall-steel wire convoluted brushesare available for specialty applications.■ Convoluted brush sections availablein half-kits for easy maintenance andquick replacement.■ Drop core design allows for quickbristle replacement without removinghydraulic hoses.■ Caterpillar bolt-on cutting edgeson hopper bucket increases wear life.■ Caterpillar XT-3 ES hose, couplings and o-ring face sealsprovide superior leak free performanceand reliability.
