DORMA Upgrade CardsDORMA Upgrade Cardsare designed to increasethe functional range of ourswing door operators. Theinstallation of the cards isvery easy: Just insert therespective Upgrade Cardinto the proper slot at thecontrol unit and the softwarewill be transferred automatically.DORMA offersdifferent Upgrade Cards,which may either be combinedor installed as individualcomponents. Please notethat the respective functionof the Upgrade Card is onlyavailable as long as the cardis connected to the controlunit. The Full-Energy andFire Protection Upgrade Cardsare installed in the ED 100or ED 250 – depending onthe field of application.Upgrade Card Full-Energy – blueAll operator systems aresupplied as Low-Energyversion, which means thatthe adjustable openingand closing speed range isrestricted to a certain limit.The respective limits dependon the prevailing door-leafwidth and door-leaf weightand may vary between 1°and 30° per second. Theselimits furthermore complywith DIN 18650 (GermanIndustrial Standard), ANSI156.19 (American Standard)and BS 7036 (BritishStandard). Depending ontheir field of application,such swing door operatorsmight not require safetysensors when operated inLow-Energy Mode. If youneed a higher driving speed,you will require the respectiveFull-Energy Upgrade Card.The driving speed may thenbe increased to a maximumof 45°/second with theED 100 and to 60°/secondwith the ED 250. In thiscase the swing path hasto be monitored by safetysensors (mounted onto thedoor leaf).Article No.ED Upgrade CardFull-EnergyED 100 29251022blueED Upgrade CardFull-EnergyED 250 29251020blue/transparentUpgrade Card Fire Protection ED 100 – redWhen the ED 100 isinstalled at fire and smokedoors with application inpreventive fire protection,the Upgrade Card FireProtection is required forcompliance with the guidelinesfor hold-open devices.Apart from its smokedetector connection (asmonitored current loop), thecard also offers a manualreset function (by openingthe door), a full-energyfunction and the system maybe triggered at the door leaf.Thanks to the card’s integratedfull-energy function,no additional Full-EnergyUpgrade Card is required.Manual reset by openingthe doorA triggered hold-opensystem has to be reactivatedmanually. When the functionhas been activated, it sufficesto open the door untilit has almost reached theadjusted opening width.Triggering at door leafIt must be possible to triggera hold-open device manuallyin order to close the door– for example with the aidof a manual release pushbuttonwith “Tür schließen”(German for “close door“)lettering.
