The Montana Water Well Drillers Association Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the fundraisers at the 2011 convention. Whether you bought a ticket for the Legislative Raffle or participated in the Scholarship Silent Auction, your time, effort and involvement is greatly appreciated. I would like to thank the Montana Water Well Drillers Association for granting me a $500 scholarship. I sincerely appreciate your continuous generosity in aiding me with my education. I am the daughter of Dave and Carolyn Potts, and my dad is the owner of Potts Drilling Inc based in Bozeman. Currently, I am a sophomore at Seattle University pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Last year, I took core classes such as English, history, philosophy, math, and art for the liberal arts education that are required of all Seattle University students. Therefore, this coming academic year, I will be taking anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and psychology to fulfill the prerequisite classes for nursing majors. In the spring, I will finally begin my nursing classes, which I am eagerly looking forward to. This year, I will continue to be a part of the Seattle University Nurses Association (SUSNA) in hopes of becoming an officer for the club in my junior year. I am also maintaining two jobs in the Admissions Office as a Student Telephone Admissions Representative (STAR) and as a part‐time tour guide and helper for large campus events. In addition, I was fortunate to become a part of the Peer Health Action Team (PHAT) at Seattle University. As a part of this team, I have become a Certified Peer Educator with the training of advising, helping, and teaching students about mental health, physical health, nutrition, alcohol, drugs, sexual assault, and healthy relationships. I look forward to this leadership position as I am able to be more involved in the Seattle University community, and the experience I will gain to aid me in my future career as a nurse. I am really looking forward to this upcoming school year as it should be an exciting and eventful one. And again, I would like to thank the MWWDA for the scholarship and their constant support of students wishing to pursue a college education. Sarah Potts 43 I would sincerely like to thank the Montana Water Well Drillers Association for awarding me the $500 scholarship. It is much appreciated and will help me in my final year of my college education. I am the daughter of Dave and Carolyn Potts, who together own Potts Drilling, a water well drilling business located in Bozeman, Montana. Currently, I am a senior at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), studying Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality. So far in my college career, I have completed all of my core classes, along with Recreation classes that consist of programming, training with grant writing, designing surveys, writing manuscripts, and learning how to network throughout the community and state. Currently I am working at the UNC Recreation Center in two different departments. One of the departments is Campus Recreation, where I work the Open Recreation position at the front desk, greeting patrons and helping them with any needs. The second position is in a new program called Outdoor Pursuits. Within this program, the University has the ability to rent outdoor gear to students and facility, as well as lead outdoor trips to the mountains, and local national parks. Working these two jobs has given me many opportunities to exceed in my recreational interests, and gives me potential options for my future career. I am looking forward to my final year at the University of Northern Colorado, by finishing off my college career as strong as I can. Thank you once again, for awarding me the $500 scholarship.
