In PS Campus Solutions there is a table named STDNT_CAR_TERM. It’s equivalent inWebFocus EPM is the TERM table. Students with more than one matriculation (getting 2degrees at the same time) and *different* careers will be listed for as many careers as theyhave in this table. Technically, a student could have a separate line for each of the following,UGRD, GRAD, LAW, or ARCH, but usually there are just two lines for a student. We followthe “PUG” rule to determine which matriculation is the “primary” one. The order we use is asfollows:1 LAW (Professional) *Note first letters of each career --PUG2 ARCH (Professional)3 UGRD (Undergraduate)4 GRAD (Graduate)Once IRP has determined the primary matriculation, that is the line we count for officialpurposes. That line will also have a Career Number, that we will later use to join to the CPPtable to determine the college, degree and majors that go with that Career and Career Number.NOTE: The degrees Audiology (AUD), Vet Science (DVM) or Plant Health (DPLH) areusually thought of as “Professional”, but are described as GRAD in PS Campus Solutions, therefore they follow the PUG rule and would come last in the sequence.Student has multiple matriculations with the same CareerIf a student has more than one matriculation with the *same* career, PS Campus Solutionslists only one of the matriculations in the STDNT_CAR_TERM/TERM table. PS makes thedetermination of which matriculation should be listed by looking at the “Career Number”.The lowest number for duplicate careers is chosen. For example, if a student is getting a BAin Spanish from Arts and Science (career#0), and a BSBA in International Business fromCBA (career#1), then the line with the Career Number of 0 is the only one that will show upin the STDNT_CAR_TERM/TERM table and is thus the only one IRP will use for officialcounts.“Primary Major”In PS there is a table named ACAD_PLAN_TBL. It’s equivalent in WF is the CPP table. Each linecontains a numbered list of majors by student, career and career number. The numbering of the plans(majors) is based on the “Plan Sequence #” in PS. IRP uses plan #1 as the first major, plan #2 as thesecond major, etc.IRP Internal ReportingIRP creates an additional AMIS view that we use for internal reporting. For this view, we list everymatriculation and every major for each student. The student in the example above (BA in Spanishfrom Arts and Science, and a BSBA in International Business from CBA) would be listed twice in thisview, once in CBA and once in ASC.I n s t i t u t i o n a l R e s e a r c h a n d P l a n n i n g , D a t a D i c t i o n a r y Page 35

“Adding up” the lines in this table will obviously not total to the Official count because we are doublecountingstudents, but this table is very useful for internal reporting, especially Program Review. Wetry to use the data from this table as much as possible for internal reports, so that all colleges anddepartments are aware of the number of students in their programs.I n s t i t u t i o n a l R e s e a r c h a n d P l a n n i n g , D a t a D i c t i o n a r y Page 36
