The other setscrew locks the whole thing to thepipe.Make sure the bottle is full, because sloshing water will increasethe damping time of the mount. Use the two-litre size for largebinoculars and the one-litre size for smaller ones. The caps are thesame size so the bottles are interchangeable.In use, balance the mount by sliding the pipe in the video head.Set the clutch knob on the video head to provide just a slight drag.Hold the binoculars in one hand while you operate the lock knob onthe ball head with the other. A few minutes to get the hang of it, andyou’re on your way.A great way to explore the sky!Figure 3 — The wedge assembly. The most difficult part of this isdrilling the hole exactly down the centre of the dowel. It wants togo off to one side or the other. Use a centre punch (or a nail) to makea dimple and drill half in from each end. Keep trying till you get itright.
