R.K.Kansal, EE(Roads) Member Secretary<strong>The</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g decision taken as <strong>in</strong>dicated below:-<strong>The</strong> issue was discussed <strong>in</strong> detail and it was aobserved that there is a shortageof contractors. In present circumstances, we have lot of volume of work ahead and there isalso pressure of time and many times one can not afford to wait for re-tender<strong>in</strong>g. More so.,the decisions of competent authority are governed on reasonability of rates.<strong>The</strong>re are reports that the contractors are procur<strong>in</strong>g support<strong>in</strong>g tenders tocircumvent condition of s<strong>in</strong>gle tender and as such the purpose beh<strong>in</strong>d <strong>in</strong>structions issued videthis office letter No. 8833-45 dated 14.6.2007 is lost. It also unnecessarily <strong>in</strong>creasethe cost of tender<strong>in</strong>g of work.is accord<strong>in</strong>gly decided.Hence <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>terest of work, it is advisable to consider s<strong>in</strong>gle tender also.
