SCI GATEWAYQUICK START GUIDEREFERRAL VALIDATIONVALIDATING THE REFERRALWhen referral letters are sent through SCI Gateway they go through a validationprocess. This is to ensure that they contain all mandatory information required forthe hospital/clinic to accept the referral. Previously if a mandatory field was missingor data was invalid a message was displayed telling you what was missing orincorrect and in which tab the mandatory information required to be completed.SCI Gateway now has an added feature, which makes this process simpler. Insteadof a message box you will be presented with a link, which when selected willautomatically take you to the relevant field in the protocol to allow you to enter themandatory data.Pictured below is an example of a referral protocol ready to be sent to a hospital.Click on SendReferralIf there are mandatory fields that have not been completed or are incorrect a list ofthem will be displayed at the bottom of the window as pictured on the next page.© Crown Copyright 2004 2
