Dear Parents<br />
PARENT CIRCULAR 32/ 2011<br />
FINANCE: There is an amount of R1 335 303-46 outstanding for school fees for October/November<br />
2011. We earnestly request that all <strong>parents</strong> and persons responsible for the payment of school fees please<br />
settle their accounts as soon as possible.<br />
Hostel fees are payable from January to Ocober and should have been paid by the 7th of October – however<br />
there is still an amount of R70 130-00 outstanding. Parents must therefore understand if their children are<br />
refused admission to the hostel if their account is in arrears. Letters advising <strong>parents</strong> that their application for<br />
re-admission to the hostel was unsuccessful due to unpaid accounts have already been sent.<br />
All accounts in arrears wll be handed over to our attorneys for collection. No account will be carrie dforward to<br />
2012.<br />
THE GRADE 8 AND 9 LEARNERS HAVE NORMAL SCHOOLING UNTIL THE<br />
6 NOVEMBER 2011. They were issued exam time-tables on Tuesday. Please be<br />
advised that grade 8’s and 9’s begin exams on the 7th November 2012.<br />
PRIZEGIVING FUNCTION<br />
The annual prizegiving held on Tuesday was a great success and many of our learners were rewarded for<br />
their hard work throughout the year. We are proud of our learners. We wish to thank the organisers for their<br />
effort to make this a success.<br />
SPORT: HOCKEY : PARENTS MEETING<br />
All <strong>hockey</strong> <strong>parents</strong> are invited to attend this important <strong>meeting</strong> which will be held on Monday the 31 st October<br />
2011 at 17:30 in the staff room. At this <strong>meeting</strong> we will select a <strong>parents</strong> committee for 2012. We were<br />
blessed with a successful season on 2011 and trust that we can move forward and build on the successes of<br />
2012.<br />
SWIMMING: Vossies win Top 10 gala<br />
On Thursday 20 October 2011,Ben Vorster competed in the annual Top 10 Gala in Limpopo and defended<br />
their title as winners. The Vossies did well and besides winning a number of records were broken- the results<br />
are as follows:<br />

Friendly gala at Menlopark :Vossie-swimmers do Tzaneen proud<br />
Hoërskool Ben Vorster swam in an invitation gala held at Menlopark. The following schools took part:<br />
Potchefstroom Gymnasium, Paarl Gymnasium, Paul Roos Gymnasium, Waterkloof, Ben Vorster, St.<br />
Andrews, Afrikaans Hoër Meisies, Pretoria Boys High, Oranje Meisies. Of the country’s best swimmers took<br />
part.<br />

Rugby: Ben Vorster Buffalo’s win 7’s tournament<br />
The past Saturday the development 7’s team of Hoërskool Ben Vorster, the Buffalos, played in a 7’s<br />
tournament at Capricorn. The team was: Trevor Nkwamba, Floyd Ntimane, Jinx Molapo, Theo Mahlo,<br />
Surprice Mathebula, Thoke Maebane, Thepiso Mahasha, Vukosi Mabuza,<br />
Grant Pinto, Jino Moya, Peter Mashego and Don Mlondobozi, the Captain.<br />
The team performed very well especially considering that there were a number of U15 and U 16 players<br />
who played against U18 teams. In the group play-offs the Vossies beat Settlers 53 – 0, DZJ 24 – 0 and<br />
Northern Academy 50 – 0, In the semi-final they beat Capricorn 42 – 0. In the final they played Settlers<br />
again and won 50 – 0. The Vossies scored 219 points and zero points were scored against them Well<br />
done!<br />
ATHLETICS: FRIENDLY MEETING: : ROB FERREIRA: 29 OCTOBER 2011 : The<br />
Vossie athletics team will participate in this <strong>meeting</strong> and we wish them the very best.<br />
FINESSE 2011/2012: The annual Finesse day was a great success and attended by many mothers<br />
and daughters. We wish to thank the organiser Mrs Lepart for all her hard work.<br />
VYFSTER BOYS HOSTEL: Vyfster Boys are reminded to vacate their rooms as the hostel will<br />
once again host markers for the matric marking session.. The hostel <strong>parents</strong> committee will meet on Friday<br />

TOEKIE VORSTER GIRLS HOSTEL: Congratulations to the girls who were awarded prizes at<br />
the annual prizegiving. We are busy equipping a computer centre at the hostel for the use of the girls to do<br />
assignments. There are still outstanding re-application forms and we ask for their return asap. We also ask<br />
that the <strong>parents</strong> support our Christmas Gift project for the Letaba School for the Disabled. We would like<br />
each girl to bring at least one present. The girls are in the process of finalising rooms for 2012.<br />
