The new
toll system
At the beginning of 2007, the new toll system for heavy goods
vehicle traffic of over 3.5 tons has been introduced in France.
The new toll system „Télépéage Inter Sociétés Poids Lourds“,
called „TIS PL“, is similar to the Telepass system in Italy, and
will make it a lot easier to use motorways and to settle tolls.
Technical requirements
The core piece of the electronic toll system is a small device,
the UTA-Box, which can be installed on the windscreen and
which registers all relevant vehicle and transaction data.
Consequently specific lanes will be designated for system
users:
For all vehicle classes *
For all vehicle classes **
For vehicles with minimum of 3 axles ***
* Vehicle class is assigned automatically
when passing the toll station
** Vehicle class is assigned manually by the toll station personnel
*** Vehicle class 4 is automatically assigned
Possible discounts
The TIS PL discounts offered vary from motorway
company to motorway company.
The discounts depend on the monthly volumes and, partly,
the EURO emission class. They are granted either per vehicle
or per vehicle and vehicle fleet.

CAPLIS Card may use their cards until they expire.
