It provides longlastingprotection against moistureintrusion, freeze/thaw cycles, andchloride intrusion. It is ideal fortraffic-bearing surfaces.YieldConcrete:100 – 200 ft 2 /gal (2.4 – 4.8 m 2 /L)Brick:100 – 200 ft 2 /gal (2.4 – 4.8 m 2 /L)Always apply a test area todetermine actual coverage rates.Coverage rates will vary greatlywith the porosity of the substrate.Packaging5 gallon (19 L) pails54 gallon (205 L) drumsColorMilky white liquid; clear when dryShelf Life18 months when properly storedStorageStore in unopened containers in aclean, dry area between 35 and110° F (2 and 43° C).Features• Water based, VOC compliant• Excellent penetration• 40% silane• Breathable• Transparent, nonstaining• One componentWhere to UseAPPLICATION• Parking garages• Stadiums• Bridge decks• Concrete highway road surfaces• Ramps and barrier rails• Stadiums• Cooling towers• Many other reinforced concrete structuresLOCATION• Horizontal and vertical• Exterior or interior• Above gradeSUBSTRATE• Concrete substrates: architectural, glass-fiberreinforced,precast, cast in place, slicia fume• New and existing concreteBenefitsEnvironmentally friendlyProtects against damage from moisture intrusionand chloride ion penetrationIdeal for traffic-bearing surfacesAllows interior moisture to escape withoutdamaging sealerDoes not alter surface appearanceEasy to apply; saves laborHow to ApplySurface Preparation1. Verify substrate has properly cured. Concreteshould obtain 80% of design strength, typicallyachieved within 14 – 28 days.2. Clean concrete surfaces of all sand, surface dustand dirt, oil, grease, chemical films and coating, sand other contaminants prior to application. Usewaterblast, sandblast, or shotblast as necessary toachieve the desired surface condition.3. Surface, air, and material temperatures shouldbe 40 to 110° F (4 to 43° C) during application. Donot apply Enviroseal ® 40 when temperatures areexpected to fall below 40° F (4° C) within 12 hours.4. Surfaces to be treated can be slightly damp;however, a dry surface is suggested for maximumpenetration of sealer. Do not apply Enviroseal ® 40 ifstanding water is visible on the surface to betreated.5. Crack control, caulking, patching, and expansionjoint sealants can be installed before or afterapplication of the sealer. Allow a minimum of6 – 12 hours curing time for caulking and sealantmaterials (or until they have skinned over) beforeapplying Enviroseal ® 40.www.DegussaBuildingSystems.com

HYDROZO ® PRODUCT DATAENVIROSEAL ® 40Application1. Test a small area of surface (generally a5 by 5 ft [1.5 by 1.5 m] section) before startinggeneral application of any clear penetrating sealerto ensure desired results and coverage rates. Allow5 – 7 days for the product to fully react beforeevaluating. Refer to Appendix HY-3: Test AreaApplication.2. Stir material thoroughly before and duringapplication.3. Apply to saturation. Apply by low-pressure nonatomizingspray or, if desired on horizontal surfaces,by pouring, followed by a squeegee or a broom foreven distribution.Drying TimeTypical drying time for Enviroseal ® 40 is 4 hours at70° F (21° C) and 50% relative humidity.
