Over 2,500 students are enrolled in our variousprogrammes. We have recently reorganised our programmes so that they follow a 3+2+3 yearsequence, leading to the awarding of Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph.D. degreesrespectively.NHH has a long reputation for its high academic level and contributions to the international researchcommunity. A large number of our faculty hold a Ph.D. from institutions outside of Norway, inparticular top US universities. This creates a diverse and stimulating academic environment.The Ph.D. student body is made up of around 90 men and women working within different fields ofspecialisation. The programme encourages close interaction between students and faculty in asocial/academic climate where students are regarded as junior colleagues.The Ph.D. programme offers courses over a wide range of topics within accounting, economics,finance, management science and strategy and management. The programme aims at giving thegraduate a solid training in performing high quality scientific research in these areas, making use ofstate of the art empirical and theoretical techniques. This prepares the student for employment innational and international policy institutions, within research centres, business enterprises, and for theinternational academic job market. The entire programme is held in English. It runs over three years,with the first year consisting primarily of course work.
