New BusinessIn addition, the board is looking into alternatives to maintain a girl’s classicteam at U14.Because team formations are not finalized, it has not yet been determined ifwe will need 4 or 5 British Challenger Coaches, but it looks like 4.Uniforms:Stefan’s now has the ability to offer uniforms on-line. Bob will be setting upthis capability for OSC managers to assign jersey numbers for their teams. This will likely be the last year for the current jersey style that OSC is using.Tryouts:The board agrees there is a need for a FAQ sheet to explain the policy foropen tryouts that MAYSA has created for its member clubs. Topics that willbe addressed in the sheet include a policy for younger players “playing up”(playing at an older age) and players that try out for OSC teams from othercommunities besides Oregon. In order to help with the transition from rec. to classic, it is important for U10coaches to submit player evaluations to the classic commissioner fordistribution both to the board and to tryout player evaluators. The board asksMike Bjerke to provide the established blank evaluation forms to coaches forthis purpose.12. Wisconsin Soccer League (Lee)After discussion and deliberation, OSC has decided to participate in the USClub Soccer’s, Wisconsin Soccer League. 20 clubs are expected toparticipate.Board thoughts regarding the new League include:It is seen as an opportunity to aid in even better development of OSC players. It will be for classic teams and will be at no additional cost to membersbecause it will take the place of tournaments. It will provide an additional 5 games to occur this fall, besides the team’sregular league games. Another 5 additional games will be played in the springas well. The games will occur on 1 or 2 weekends and will involve all OSC classicteams traveling together to engage another club’s classic teams. This will

make it easier on families with multiple children on OSC classic team. It willalso help to allow coaches to have less schedule conflicts. These games will offer good competition without focusing on wins and losses. The focus will be on player and team development. It also has the potential to provide players an opportunity to be seen by collegerecruiters or coaches from national programs at these weekend gatherings.13. RegistrarIt has been learned that Sandy Salzwedel has resigned from her post as theOSC registrar for the past 3 years, effective immediately. The board regretsthe loss of her tireless efforts, generosity and dedication to OSC. She will bemissed by our club.Topics for future meetingsThe OSC policy/FAQ sheet for players playing up and for players from othercommunities trying out for OSC will be discussed further.
