Tuesday March 10 th 2009PRESS RELEASESecondment of Julian Hartley to the University Hospital ofSouth Manchester NHS Foundation TrustJulian Hartley, Chief Executive of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHSFoundation Trust, has been seconded to act as Chief Executive of theUniversity Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust.UHSM has today named Mr Hartley as its interim Chief Executive followingthe move of its current Chief Executive, Peter Morris, to Barts and the LondonNHS Trust. The secondment will run from Monday, March 30, 2009 untilFriday June 19, 2009.Mr Hartley has been invited to lead UHSM due to his reputation of managinga successful, high performing Foundation Trust. Meanwhile, his currentdeputy Aidan Kehoe will step up to become acting Chief Executive during this12-week period.Chairman of UHSM, Felicity Goodey, said: “We are putting the finishingtouches to our ambitious new strategy ‘Towards 2015’. Programmes arealready underway to change the way we work in order to ensure that wedeliver our triple offer of safety, quality treatment and a first class experienceto every patient, every time they need us.“Any change process means a lot of extra work for the senior team, who alsohave the responsibility of ensuring that the hospital continues to deliver anexcellent service on a daily basis.
