OUR SORRENTO & TAORMINA TOUR ITINERARY:
DAYS 1 & 2– BOSTON~INTERMEDIATE CITY~NAPLES~LA SORGENTA: Depart Boston’s International Airport aboard our overnight
transatlantic flight to an intermediate city with full meal and beverage service, as well as stereo headsets, available while in flight. Benvenuti in
Italia! Arrival at the Naples Airport the next day where we will be met by our Tour Host who will assist with our transfer. Enroute we will stop for
lunch and a mozzarella demonstration in La Sorgenta and 800 year old working farm. Check in the Hotel Michelangelo (or similar). Dinner and
overnight at our hotel. (L, D)
DAY 3 – AMALFI DRIVE: After breakfast at the hotel, we will be taken on an excursion along one of the most scenic roads in the world –The
Amalfi Drive! Our first stop will be above Positano, one of Italy’s most famous elegant resorts. We will then continue our drive through the ancient
marine republic of Amalfi. There will be some free time to visit the beautiful Cathedral of St. Andrew, explore the town or browse and shop. We will
stop for a light lunch in Scala. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, L, D)
DAY 4 – ISLE OF CAPRI: Today we will visit the beautiful Isle of Capri! Our full-day excursion includes a round trip ferry ride, and a guided
sightseeing tour. The town of Capri is very chic with shops, hotels, and restaurants lying along winding streets. The main square, Piazza Umberto, has
a pretty white church and several open-air cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. Stop for lunch along our way. We will also visit the
Augustus Gardens and their magnificent view over the Faraglioni Rocks. We will return to the hotel for dinner this evening. (B, L, D)
DAY 5 – CASERTA & MONTECASSINO: After breakfast, drive to Caserta for a tour of the imposing Royal Palace (built by Charles IV to rival the
Palace of Versailles in Paris, France) and the magnificent grounds and gardens. After lunch at local restaurant in Caserta, we are off to the
famous hilltop Abbey of Montecassino, which was destroyed during one of the most brutal battles of WWII, and subsequently re-built in the
1950's. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Sorrento. (B, L D)
DAY 6 – SORRENTO: Breakfast at our hotel. Free day for independent sightseeing or shopping. Optional tours are available (at additional
expense). Dinner and Overnight at our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 7 – POMPEII~NAPLES~OVERNIGHT FERRY: Following breakfast and hotel check out, we will visit the “lost city” of Pompeii and its
extensive archaeological excavations. Lunch is enjoyed in Pompeii this day. Afterwards, we will tour many of the most famous landmarks in the
city of Naples, visiting the commercial and military port, and the Medieval castle, Castel dell’Ovo. Arrive at the port to board the overnight ferry
from Naples to Palermo (boarding at 6:00 p.m.) Dinner on board. Ferry departure at 8:00 p.m. Overnight aboard. (B, L, D)
DAY 8 – PALERMO~TAORMINA-: After breakfast onboard and disembarkation, we will be hosted on a guided city sightseeing tour of many
of Palermo’s most famous and historic landmarks. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Palermo afterwards we will enjoy a scenic drive traversing
the island of Sicily to Taormina, where we will check in at the Hotel Vello D’Oro (or similar). Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, L D)

DAY 9 – TAORMINA: After breakfast, a local expert will conduct a morning sightseeing tour of Taormina, including visits to all of the major
attractions and a complete orientation of the city. The unquestioned highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Greek and Roman Theater,
situated on the slope of Monte Tauro. From here, we will experience a breathtaking view of the Sicilian landscape, especially Mt. Etna in the
distance. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore on our own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, D)
DAY 10 – SIRACUSA: Breakfast at our hotel. We are off on a full day excursion to Siracusa, a spectacular city along the southeastern coast
that has the largest concentration of Greek ruins outside of Greece! At one time, Siracusa was the biggest, wealthiest city in all of Europe. In
the “Archaeological Zone”, we will see the ancient amphitheater and coliseum, which date back to the 5th century BC. Lunch at a local
restaurant in Siracusa. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
DAY 11 – CATANIA~MOUNT ETNA: Breakfast at our hotel. In the morning, we are off for a tour of Catania, where we will have a panoramic
tour of this wonderful city known for its straight streets and attractive buildings. We will visit the Duomo (site of the Chapel of Saint Agatha) and the
open-air market. Our afternoon excursion will take us halfway up Mt. Etna, the largest volcano in all of Europe. This active volcano affords a
fascinating sightseeing tour. The topography and fauna will change dramatically as we ascend the mountain for a spectacular view of Taormina
and surrounding Sicily. A lunch and wine tasting at Etna today. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 12 – MESSINA: Today, we will drive north along the spectacular east coast of Sicily to Messina for a city tour. We will experience a visit to
the Duomo to see its fabulous mosaics. The Duomo is also famous for its clock tower, with moving statues that activate with a playing of “Ave
Maria” at noontime each day. Time to shop and have lunch on <strong>your</strong> own. Enjoy a view across to Calabria on the Italian mainland. We will tour to
Savoca and Forza d’Agro to see the locations used in the filming of The Godfather movies including the wedding church and Bar Vitelli.
Tonight we enjoy a farewell dinner with minieral water and wine included. Overnight at our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 13 – CATANIA~INTERMEDIATE CITY~BOSTON: After breakfast and hotel check out, we will be transferred to Catania Airport for our
return flight to Boston (via intermediate city) with full meal and beverage service, as well as stereo headsets, available while in flight. (B)

have questions about <strong>your</strong> insurance or <strong>your</strong> eligibility. The plan covers trip cancellation or pre- or post-trip interruption, and tour
operator/cruise line/airline bankruptcy up to the cost of the trip and travel delay up to $750 (max. $150 per day). Emergency evacuation is
covered up to $50,000. Accident or Sickness Medical Expense is covered up to $25,000. Lost or stolen baggage/personal effects are covered
up to $2500. Baggage delay (24-hours or more) up to $250 reimbursement, and death or dismemberment benefit $25,000 max.. This plan is

TRIP DEVIATIONS: Any request for tour deviation will be subject to availability at the time of booking. The maximum extension permitted is 10
- 14 days, depending on the airline. A deviation form, along with the surcharge fee of $150, must be submitted at the time of initial payment,
but will be accepted up to 120-days prior to departure. After processing, the request, any additional deviation expenses (car rental, train, hotel,
etc.) must be paid, in full, to the Retail Department of Durgan Travel Service at the time of reservation. Download form from
