Dear Friends of the FIU Writers Conference 2012:
I am happy to announce that in conjunction with Books and Books and the fabulous Biltmore Hotel &
Resort in Coral Gables, Florida, we have set the dates for the THREE-DAY FIU Writers Conference 2012
to be held at the Biltmore Hotel & Resort, Thursday-Saturday, October 25-27, 2012.
Joining us will be an outstanding staff of writers, teachers, editors and agents:

Of course we hope that you will want to join us at the legendary Biltmore, with its many amenities, but as
always, the heart of the matter is writing. Our program offers intensive, hands-on workshops and
discussions intended to help writers at all stages of development: you can enroll in up to three different
three-day class sessions, and enjoy agent/editor roundtables, nightly readings and more. Tuition is only
$400 if you enroll by August 1, 2012. And if you would like to reserve an individual manuscript
conference with a faculty member, you can do so for an additional $75. Do act promptly, however, for
enrollment is limited and manuscript conferences sell out quickly, as will special-rate rooms at the beautiful
Biltmore (just $279 per night, tax & resort fees included). To register for the conference, use the attached

REFUND POLICY: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Conference Director and e-mailed or
postmarked no later than Friday, September 14, 2012. An administrative fee of $25 will be retained. FIU students
who request refunds will be refunded in the form of financial aid per the FIU Controller’s Office regulations. After
Friday, September 14, 2012, no refunds can be given. If the program is cancelled by the University, however, all
fees will be refunded.
CANCELLATION POLICY: FIU reserves the right to cancel, postpone, alter, or limit enrollment in any program due
to insufficient enrollment or to other circumstances beyond the institution's control. FIU's liability will be limited to
program registration fees only.
