A message from your 2012 GAVAR PresidentHere we are June already. Wow is this year moving fast. The trip to Sacramento was great. It looks likethe bulk sales idea is going to go down in defeat. Governor Brown attended the REALTOR® LegislationDay. Our group from GAVAR made up of C.A.R. Directors, LGR committee members and our GAD, DianeCarlton met with Assemblyman Steve Knight. We attended a Capitol Reception where 58 legislatorsdropped in. It is very important to have legislators in office that support what we as REALTORS® standand work for every day. As we go into June don’t forget to VOTE on June 5 th . And Remember to Supportthe REALTOR® Party. In other words support the Leaders who promote REALTOR® friendly ideas andhome ownership. And again don’t forget we will soon be looking at our board election as well. So if youare thinking of running for a position or know someone you want to encourage. Now is the time to dothat. The trip to Washington D.C. for N.A.R. Midyear meetings with Lawmakers was very interesting and busy. Diane Carlton and Iattended a breakfast with Senator Dianne Feinstein. We also attended a session of the U.S. Senate. We were in the sessionfor a few hours while the budget was being debated. We toured the REALTOR Building and attended a reception at theLibrary of Congress where several Lawmakers stopped in. Then on Thursday we attended the REALTOR® Rally at theWashington Monument where 13,800 REALTORS® Attended. This was amazing to see people from all over the country in oneplace to bring our interest to the capitol. Several Lawmakers showed to this event as well some of which were REALTORS®.And then we wrapped up the month with "Suited for Success" which was a great success. Great job to all who gave of time oryour clothes. The communications committee chaired by Elle Stamsek and Rosy Garcia did a great job on this event.I would like to thank you all for taking the time to read our newsletter. And please share with a friend. We need help gettingthe news out. Have a great month.Your President,Dave SloverL to R: Marco Henriquez, Angela Scurry-Herrera, DianeCarlton, Robin Gillins, Steve Knight, Doug Koffel, JillFurtado, Dave Slover & Steve Rice.President, Dave Slover seated at the National Association ofREALTORS® Boardroom table.2012 C.A.R.
