nationaL conFerence<br />

South Texas will serve as Folklórico Headquarters for<br />

<strong>ANGF</strong>’s 39th Annual Congreso Nacional on the shores of<br />

Corpus Christi from June 30 – July 7, <strong>2012</strong>. The American<br />

Bank Center will be the host facility to more than 600<br />

dancers, directors, teachers, sponsors, vendors and guests<br />

from across the United States and México.<br />

CONFERENCE<br />

Movement classes are instructed by masters of the art of<br />

la Danza Folklórica Mexicana. Each maestro specializes in<br />

history and dance from their native regions of México. In<br />

addition to the adult movement class, the Desarrollo class,<br />

(specifically for teachers and youth from 9-12 years of age),<br />

introduces and solidifies the basics of folklórico in a fun<br />

and creative method to increase retention value. Featured<br />

classes for <strong>2012</strong> will be from the Mexican regions of Chiapas,<br />

Sonora, Guanajuato, Estado <strong>de</strong> México, Michoacán, and<br />

Veracruz.<br />

Networking at the Director’s Gathering<br />

Each year Group Directors and instructors are provi<strong>de</strong>d<br />

the time and opportunity to network and learn from each<br />

other in their best interest, add their input about <strong>ANGF</strong><br />

programs and have the opportunity to join a Committee<br />

of <strong>ANGF</strong> and solidify the improvements of <strong>ANGF</strong>’s offerings<br />

and well as promote <strong>ANGF</strong> to states that aren’t currently<br />

represented at the Congreso.<br />

Corpus Christi – “the Sparkling City by the Bay”<br />

Participants have time to explore local restaurants, learn<br />

about Corpus Christi’s history and superstars such as<br />

Selena and Eva Longoria as well as local attractions.<br />
