iNtuition Architecture CT, PET & MR GATE Node DICOM image data AquariusGATE Software The AquariusGATE software automatically routes DICOM data quickly between multiple offices and remote sites, image routing can be controlled using rules, which are based on a combination of DICOM tags such as the modality type, name of the referring physician, or time of day. APS Node AquariusAPS Software Upon receipt of images from the CT scanner, the AquariusAPS software searches its internal “directory” of anatomy and automatically applies various processing engines based upon user-defined rules AquariusAPS can automatically segment bones and vessels, remove the CT table, rib cage, extract luminal centerlines of vessels, apply parametric maps, automatically detect and label various parts of the anatomy and derive coronal and sagittal series from axial data sets. AquariusNET (Render) Software The AquariusNET software provides a scalable, real-time, and centrally shared rendering resource, which can support an unlimited number of concurrent users of any of the iNtuition Client Applications. FIFO RAID cache is typically deployed to allow for rapid image loading without a delay for a DICOM query/retrieve. The system may also be SAN-attached, and/or deployed with redundant storage for use as a permanent archive solution.
Scalability and Redundancy The sophisticated and flexible Aquarius iNtuition architecture combines with the unprecedented flexibility of the iNtuition UNLIMITED licensing models to provide a solution capable of meeting the needs of small imaging departments and the largest multi-specialty and multi-facility enterprises alike. Keys to achieving the massive scalability of iNtuition are the ability to render hundreds of thousands of images simultaneously using a very small amount of off-the-shelf computing hardware, and the ability to deploy these render nodes using either Load Balancing or Mutual Awareness methods detailed below. These techniques allow the render nodes of any iNtuition system to be deployed in either a centralized manner where each render node has access to the same clinical image data, or in a distributed manner where each render node has access to different clinical image data. In either case, iNtuition can produce a single, unified patient list to achieve a seamless enterprise workflow.
