Al Jazeera Digital Magazine - Borders Part II

Making Of - In June 2014, during the games in Brazil, two social
organizations have created an alternative competition: a Refugee’s
World Cup, with the participation of five teams in addition
to the winner, Haiti: Congo - who lost 2x0 in the final -, Syria,
Ivory Coast, Colombia and Mali.
Each selection consisted of 11 men born in those countries and
who came to Brazil because of war, political, religious and / or
ethnic persecutions.
There I found Dady, Haitian who was a kind of moral guru for the
team, with visceral speeches after victories. From there came the
first part of the issue to Al Jazeera Digital Magazine.
Here I bring a little of that was not originally published, with
more pictures of the scenes, matches and character portraits.
One of these portraits seemed interesting to the people from Al
Jazeera in Doha - and they asked me to seek the person’s history:
the malinense Tianse.
After an investigation, I found out he would be in Brás, historic
district of Sao Paulo. There, as i found an african community of
refugees, ends the second part of this plot.
Making Of - Em junho de 2014, durante os jogos no Brasil,
duas organizações sociais planejaram uma competição alternativa:
a Copa do Mundo dos Refugiados, com a participação
de mais cinco times, além do vencedor, o Haiti: Congo
- que perdeu por 2x0 na final -, Síria, Costa do Marfim,
Colômbia e Mali.
Cada seleção era formada por 11 homens nascidos nesses
países e que vieram para o Brasil por motivos de guerra,
perseguição política, religiosa e/ou étnica.
Lá encontrei Dady, haitiano que era uma espécie de guru
moral para o time, com discursos viscerais depois das vitórias.
A partir daí surgiu a primeira parte dessa matéria para
a Al Jazeera Digital Magazine.
Aqui trago um pouco do que não foi publicado originalmente,
com mais fotos dos bastidores das partidas e retratos de
personagens.
Um desses retratos chamou a atenção da redação em Doha,
Qatar – e me pediram para buscar a história da pessoa: o
malinense Tianse.
Após uma investigação, descobri que ele estaria no Brás,
bairro histórico de São Paulo. Lá, ao encontrar uma comunidade
africana de refugiados, termina a segunda parte desse
enredo.
