MF7 - POLARIS

Metaflex Chiller and Freezer sliding doors
MF7 - POLARIS model
Main features of Polaris door:
* unique rail system
* advanced automation
* heavy gauge framework
* easily replaced modular panel system
* face of door protected by bumper rail
Metaflex doors
Mechanical engineering expertise, advanced
insulation technology and skilled workmanship
are embodied in all Metaflex doors.
Applications
Metaflex doors meet the highest quality
requirements and provide the ultimate solution
for cold storage, food processing areas, the chemical
industry and many situations with a controlled
environment.
Standard design MF7 - Polaris
The doorblade is constructed from a series of
insulation panels faced with either white (RAL 9002)
coated or stainless steel sheet and framed with
heavy gauge aluminium or 2 mm stainless steel
profile.
Panel system
The MF7 panels, either 80 mm or 120 mm thick,
have a core of pressure injected polyurethane
insulation with a density of 45 kg/m 3 .
The Metaflex rail system is a combination of aluminium track and two hard wearing nylon rollers. Special indentations in the track allow
the door to slide down and in at an angle of 45° utilising the weight of the door to give a perfect seal when closed.

Contruction
Many years of research have led to the design of
an advanced rail system with the minimum of just
two moving parts which allow the door to seal under
its own wieght by sliding down and in at an angle of
45° against the frame and threshhold. Combine the
unique rail system, high insulation properties of the
polyurethane panels, effective sealing gaskets and
you have the perfect chiller/freezer door; energy
saving, totally reliable and easy to use.
Durability
The door has been designed to withstand the rigours
of industrial use. The composite panel construction
is extremely stable and is contained in a heavy duty
framework and this, together with a horizontal
bumper bar, protects the panels from impact
damage and gives rigidity
Temperature
Depending on ambient temperature the doors are
designed for cold rooms operating from as low as
-25°C to +70°C. If doors are for freezer rooms
then a self regulating heater tape is fitted to prevent
the gasket from sticking to the frame.
Finish
The Metaflex doors are available in coated steel sheet in a
chaice of RAL colours or in stainless steel with a circleground
pattern.
Manual or Automatic
All Metaflex doors can be manually operated or
fully automatic with a microprocessor controlled
electric system. It is recommended that doors
which are used extensively are automated with
resultant savings of energy and operator time.
Electric automation
This consists of a 220/380 V motor mounted on
the rail system which fully drives the door open
and closed. A safety strip on the leading edge will
re-open the door if an obstruction is encountered.
The door can easily be operated manually in the
event of power failure.
Controls
The standard operation is by means of push
button/pull cord switches.
Infra-red or radar detection units can be added
with timer close facility.

Specification MF7-POLARIS
Rail system
The doorblade is suspended by two specially formed
brackets fitted with hard nylon rollers which run a
heavy gauge aluminium track. The brackets allow
easy adjustment so the door may be accurately
aligned. A canopy is provided to cover the full length
of the track in either coated or stainless steel sheet.
Manual operation is by means of lever handles with
locking (optional).
Doorblade
The doorblade is built up from a series of easily
interchangeable insulation panels which are framed
in either a heavy gauge aluminium or 2 mm stainless
steel profiles. The surfaces are protected with a vinyl
film which should be removed after installation.
Door frame
Various door frames can be offered to suit
the wall construction. The standard frame is
45 mm x 150 mm and can be manufactured in
either coated or stainless steel sheet infilled with
polyurethane insulation. Alternatively ‘U’ profiles
can be specially formed to suit the insulation panels
or wall thickness. For low temperature applications
a self regulating 220 V or 42 V heater cable is
incorporated in the frame.
