were married October 23, 2004,<br />

at Shiloh Presbyterian Church in<br />

Greeneville, Tenn. Kristi is employed<br />

by dentist Dr. David Dykes. The<br />

Christophers are living in Greeneville.<br />

Jamie Webb ’05 and Michael Gosnell<br />

were married on October 9, 2004. The<br />

Gosnells are residing in Greeneville,<br />

child, a daughter Catilin Nikoll, born<br />

on March 30, 2004. She weighed 7 lbs.<br />

Rob Powell ’93 and his wife, Jamie,<br />

announce the birth of their first child,<br />

Thomas, born in September 2004. The<br />

Powells reside in Lexington, S.C.<br />

16, 2004, weighing 5 lbs. 14 oz. and<br />

Piper Elizabeth. She was born on<br />

Flint and Christy Carter ’98 ’98 announce<br />

the birth of a daughter, Cora<br />

Lindy, born May 4, 2005, weighing 8<br />

lbs. 3 oz. Cora has an older brother<br />

Flint, age 3. The Carters reside in<br />

Greeneville.<br />

Amanda (Hill) and Jason Vance ’98<br />

’98 of Madisonville, Tenn., announce<br />

the birth of a son, William Jason, on<br />

April 14, 2004. William has an older<br />

sister, Emily Grace, age 2. Jason is the<br />

principal at Loudon Elementary<br />

School and Amanda is a consulting<br />

teacher in Monroe County.<br />

Tyson Baynes ’99 who was stationed<br />

at the time at Ft. Campbell, Ky., announces<br />

the birth of a son, Noah<br />

James, on November 6, 2004. His<br />

mother is Virginia Baynes from<br />

Amiens, France.<br />

’01 of Hampton, Tenn., announce the<br />

birth of a daughter, Madison Jordan,<br />

on September 23, 2004. She weighed<br />

7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long.<br />

Memorials<br />

’30s<br />

Dr. George A. Zirkle ’30 of<br />

Clarksville, Ind., passed away February<br />

23, 2004. Dr. Zirkle, who had previously<br />

lived in Hanover, Ky., was a<br />

retired professor of psychology at<br />

Hanover College, where he had<br />

taught for 38 years. After studying at<br />

Duke University, Dr. Zirkle went to<br />

Hanover College as its first professionally<br />

trained psychologist.<br />

Dorothy E. Ramsey Hubbard ’32 of<br />

Hanover, Pa., passed away January<br />

28, 2005. A native of Greene County,<br />

Mrs. Hubbard was valedictorian of<br />

her class in a high school run by the<br />

Presbyterian Mission Board in Hot<br />

Springs, N.C., before attending Tusculum,<br />

which was made possible by<br />

a kindly benefactor whom she never<br />

met who paid her tuition. She met her<br />

husband at Tusculum, the late Rev.<br />

George T. Hubbard ’32. Following her<br />

husband’s graduation from Louisville<br />

Presbyterian Seminary in 1936, she<br />

assisted him in serving Presbyterian<br />

churches in Indiana, Iowa, Tennessee,<br />

Alabama, and Kentucky. She is survived<br />

by son, George T. Hubbard,<br />

Jr. ’64 of Hanover, Pa.<br />

Lillian Myrl Neas ’32 of Johnson City,<br />

Tenn., passed away November 16,<br />

2004. A long-time resident of Greene<br />

County, Tenn., Miss Neas was a retired<br />

secretary from Pet, Inc., having<br />

served the company for more than 35<br />

years. She was a member of St. James<br />

Lutheran Church in Greene County.<br />

Walter W. Waddell ’34 of Tusculum,<br />

Tenn., passed away January 5, 2005,<br />

after several years of declining health.<br />

Mr. Waddell had been the manager<br />

of a fertilizer plant for many years. He<br />

was a charter member of the Doak<br />

Ruritan Club, which formed in 1950,<br />

and served the club in various capacities<br />

on both the state and local level.<br />

Mr. Waddell was a member of<br />

Hermon United Methodist Church.
