FEDERATION FOOTNOTES
VOLUME 12 ISSUE 2 June, 2012
From the desk of……………..
I have traveled to Europe 3 times this year, twice in the last 3 weeks, and wherever I go I meet fans of the Fleckvieh breed .It truly is
the world’s breed. I signed up to attend the World Simmental Fleckvieh Congress in Germany this September and I am very excited
to participate and to meet other Fleckvieh breeders from around the world and see Fleckvieh cattle in their homeland.
The FSFF is gearing up for a busy and productive fall. Don't miss out on the fun planned in Louisville this year. The festivities will
start with the first FSFF International Junior Fullblood Simmental Heifer Show, Sunday morning November 11th, followed by the
President's Reception and FSFF Benefit Fundraiser, which will be held Sunday evening from 7-11pm at the Kentucky Derby
Museum located at Churchill Downs Racecourse. We will have full access to the Museum , enjoy some good food and refreshments,
followed by the Fundraiser auction. The FSFF Annual Meeting and Luncheon will be on Monday , November 12 at 11:30am,
followed by the North American Select Simmental Sale with Fleckvieh lots included Monday evening at 5pm, with all the festivities
culminating on Tuesday, November 13 at 5 pm at The Pinnacle, the FSFF International Fullblood Simmental Show, in it’s 4th
year.. We are looking for fun, interesting and unique items for the Fundraiser auction. Please contact Ron Nolan or Faith Burton in
the FSFF Office if you have any items to donate.
We are excited that the new FSFF youth show at the NAILE it is a great opportunity to showcase our cattle and to get new youth and
their parents involved in Fullblood Fleckvieh. We need everyone’s full support of our youth. We are looking for show class sponsors
and Corporate sponsorships , so please contact the FSFF Office if you would like to contribute.
Randall Townley is working on a sale to replace what used to be held in Calhoun, GA. He is hard at work with the details and
securing a premier site in Georgia. Randall would appreciate any help or support from breeders interested in being involved.
Bob and I attended the DDD dispersal sale in Russellville, AR. I was glad to see the great turnout for the dispersal sale but it was
also a sad moment as I look back over the years and all the great times that I have had going to DDD. Thank you Kent and Glenna
for all the wonderful hospitality and memories.
I again end this letter with the reminder that the FSFF belongs to it’s Members. The FSFF Board
and the Office encourage the ideas, suggestions and participation of it’s Members. Let us hear
from you !
BULLETINS FROM THE FSFF BOARD
The FSFF is pleased to be holding its third annual FSFF Benefit Fundraiser Auction on Sunday,November
11, 2012, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. This year we will also be seeking Corporate Sponsorships
to aid us in funding our ongoing events at the North American International Livestock Exposition, our
newly organized youth program-the FSFFjr, and our ability to keep our initial promise to the FSFF
membership that we will always continue to promote and market the Fullblood Fleckvieh breed through
an active advertising program. Ads will be published through 2012 in SimTalk, the Register, Canadian
Simmental Country, Commercial Country and in any other industry magazine the FSFF Membership
thinks would be of substantive exposure to the cattle buying and breeding sector.
The FSFFjr was organized this year to do whatever we can to attract more youth to our industry and
the Fleckvieh breed. We are excited about the programs being discussed and the fact that we have
already been approved for an FSFF Junior Fullblood Simmental Heifer Show at the 2012 NAILE. This
youth is the fuel of the future of agriculture and in particular, the cattle industry. Another aspect of our
commitment to our youth project is to prepare our FSFFjr Members to show their Fullblood Fleckvieh
cattle competitively at the National level with the AJSA and YCSA,
In appreciation for your generous gesture, you will be listed within all our remaining advertising for
2012. Your name and/or business name will be posted onto our FSFF website as well as being featured
in the FSFF booth at the 2012 NAILE and acknowledged at our 2012 FSFF Annual Membership Meeting
to be held in Louisville during the NAILE. The Class Sponsorships and Class Premium Awards will be
listed in the Pinnacle and FSFF Junior Fullblood Show programs and read aloud to the public seated in
the grandstand area. The FSFF Board understands that Members of the FSFF do not take sponsorships
lightly and are well aware of the huge importance they are to us maintaining “business as usual” within
the FSFF as we experience the tremendous awareness of Fleckvieh that has occurred over the last
several years.
If you would like to donate an item for the Fundraiser or give a Corporate Sponsorship, please contact
Ron Nolan at: bar5admin@xplornet.com , or 905-330-5299.
Sincerely, Anne-Marie Rasch Ron Nolan
