RESPITALITY Program
Respite – noun. 1. Temporary relief. 2. Time out from parenting responsibilities.
Hospitality – noun. 1. Generosity & friendliness toward visitors. 2. The complimentary weekend accommodations donated by the hotel community.
The UCP RESPITALITY Program offers parents of children with special
needs the opportunity to get away for a relaxing weekend. Parents are
given the gift of free weekend accommodations at one of our local partner
hotels, while a qualified UCP Care Provider takes care of the children in
their own home at no cost to the family. A UCP RESPITALITY weekend
gives couples and single parents a chance to get away and have a much
needed break. Since it’s inception in 1989, the program has been
supported by 18-20 hotels in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties each year,
enabling UCP to serve 70 families annually.
“We cannot thank you enough for the generosity and
continued support of the UCP RESPITALITY Program, it
is a huge gift for our family and we sincerely appreciate
the opportunity to be a part of it.”
