the policy is working well and the number of applications for registration in New Zealand, which have clearly used a ‘soft’ Australian jurisdiction as a means of accessing New Zealand registration, has dropped considerably. The Board also notes that it has received clear advice from the Minister that it is able to examine the competence of any applicants for registration, including those applying under the provisions of the TTMRA, and it is currently considering appropriate protocols for this task. In the coming year the Board will assess the need for further modifications to the site with the intentions of introducing innovations in layout and usability should these be felt necessary in the light of the last three years experience. SIMON ROUGHAN Deputy Chairperson CARYL BLOMKVIST 15. mail contact with chiropractors One of the problems the Board experiences every year is the fact that some chiropractors change their mailing address but fail to advise the Board, as they are obliged to do under the provisions of the HPCA. This has led to some individuals practicing without an annual practicing certificate, thereby endangering ACC payments and exposing themselves to the possibility of prosecution for practicing improperly. The Board encourages changes of address to be notified by fax to (04) 472 2350, or be emailed to chiropractic@regboards.co.nz. 16. conclusion The last year has been a particularly challenging one and I would like to thank all members of the Board, and in particular the lay members, for their work on behalf of the profession and their support to me in my role as Chairman.
