Assistant Coaches<br />

John Ford<br />

John Ford brings more than a decade of international playing experience to his new role as a member<br />

of the St. Francis coaching staff this season.<br />

Ford spent the previous eight years playing professional basketball in Bordeaux, France, following<br />

stints in Finland as well as in the Continental Basketball Association, American Basketball Association<br />

and the Independent Basketball Association in the U.S. He retired as a player in 2011.<br />

A native of Joliet, Ford graduated from Joliet West High School in 1996 before attending Colorado<br />

State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 2000.<br />

Ford resides in Joliet with his wife Debra, son John and daughter Khali.<br />

Steve Kollar<br />

Steve Kollar joined the St. Francis coaching staff in 2010-2011, where he was reunited with thennew<br />

USF head coach John Baines.<br />

Kollar was a guard at Elmhurst College from 2001-04 during Baines' 10-year tenure as an assistant<br />

coach. He played high school basketball at Wheaton North High School before moving on to Elmhurst.<br />

Kollar began his coaching career in the fall of 2005 as the freshman "B" team baseball and basketball<br />

coach at Wheaton North High School. He spent the next year coaching football there, tutoring the<br />

freshmen quarterbacks and serving as the freshmen team’s assistant offensive coordinator.<br />

He then moved on to South Elgin High School where he coached both the freshman "A" team<br />

and the sophomore squad over the next two seasons. He coached the freshmen at West Aurora High<br />

School in 2009-10. Kollar earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from Elmhurst and his<br />

master's in education from Aurora University. He resides in Wheaton.<br />

Jesse Woods<br />

Jesse Woods begins his second season as an assistant to head coach John Baines.<br />

Upon graduation from Shawano (Wis.) Community High School in 2002, Woods attended University<br />

of St. Thomas (Minn.) from 2002-06. He competed for the Tommies for two seasons (2002-04)<br />

before a recurring injury sidelined him for the remainder of his tenure at U<strong>ST</strong>. Woods maintained a<br />

3.67 GPA while earning degrees in English, French Literature and Spanish.<br />

In 2010, Woods completed his master of arts degree from McGill University (Montreal, Quebec).<br />

He walked on to the 12-man roster and competed for the Redmen from 2008-10. During that time as<br />

a two-year starter, Woods served as the team co-captain and helped MGU to an overall record of 8-8<br />

in his final campaign.<br />

Woods resides in Chicago.<br />

Student Assistant Lukas Zebrauskas<br />

Following a highly-successful four-year playing career at St. Francis, Lucas Zebrauskas joins the staff<br />

as a student assistant coach this season.<br />

Zebrauskas earned All-CCAC accolades each of the past two seasons. He capped his playing career<br />

in 2011-12 by finishing among the league’s top eight in three separate statistical categories. In 10<br />

league games, he ranked third in rebounding (8.1 rpg), fifth in field goal percentage (.536) and eighth<br />

in scoring (12.5 ppg). In all games, Zebrauskas tallied 12.0 points per game and pulled down 6.8 rebounds<br />

per contest.<br />

Zebrauskas graduated this past spring with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is<br />

pursing an MBA at St. Francis.<br />
