Solar thermal packages
Our bespoke direct gas fired/solar
thermal hot water packages
Working with our well established MSC accredited solar
partners, offering supply only or supply and install if required,
our bespoke direct gas fired water heater/solar thermal
packages offer an ideal solution for building owners
who wish to reduce their carbon footprint without
compromising the hot water supply.

Packages include:
• Bespoke design - packages individually designed to meet your specific requirements
• High efficiency evacuated tube or flat plate collectors
• Compact, lightweight design - saving installation and maintenance time and costs
• Solar storage vessels; including single or twin coil vessels and also thermal stores
which are able to accept multiple heat sources
• Supply and install or supply only options.
Solar collectors
We can supply two types of solar collector; evacuated tube or flat plate. Both types of collector
are designed to be compact and lightweight without compromising on efficiency. Our standard
flat plate collector is covered by a 20 year warranty and for building owners who prefer flat plate
collectors but require the higher efficiency of the evacuated tube collectors we can now also offer
an evacuated flat plate collector.
Solar storage vessels
A suitably sized solar storage vessel should be selected in order to maximise the solar gain
within the system. This will be sized according to the solar array, peak demand time and
duration. The most effective solar storage solution is to utilise a pre-heat vessel; this will
allow the maximum solar gain without the store being compromised by other heat sources.
Our twin-coil vessels can be used with condensing boilers as the primary heat source or they
can be used as a pre-heat vessel utilising two LZC systems such as solar thermal and air
source heat pumps. In addition our HSK thermal store range can accept multiple heat sources
if required, and are also able to reduce the Legionella risk due to its very low domestic hot
water store, typically less than 90ltr within the domestic hot water coil.

Primary heat source
For the majority of commercial and industrial applications utilising solar thermal, approximately
40-50% maximum of the buildings hot water demand could be satisfied by solar energy, and therefore
it is important not to ignore the primary heat source.
Our complete range of water heaters, and in particular our condensing models with efficiencies between
92% - 99% Gross CV, will ensure the most efficient use of fossil fuels and thus help you achieve higher
reductions in emissions of CO2
