Phil Graves ‘13, has been promoted
to Athens Utility Board’s Director of
Management Services.
Linda Hampton Higdon ‘73, has joined
Keller-Williams in Cleveland, Tenn., as an
affiliate broker.
Capt. Frank Horning ’74, has retired from
the Athens Police Department. Horning
served 38 years at APD.
Brian “Mooch” McDowell ’75, retired
after 33 years of teaching and coaching
in 2012 due to his battle with Multiple
Myeloma Cancer. He is still in treatment
at Vanderbilt, and doing well all things
considered. He would love to hear from
his fellow Bulldog Soccer players at any
time they want to call.
Luke Sewell ‘66, has retired as the Director
of Coordinated Charities in Athens, Tenn.
John Tucker ‘14, has been named Head
Boys Basketball Coach at Polk County
High school.

Tammy Blankenship Underwood
’92, received her Master’s Degree in
Curriculum and Instruction in December
of 2013, and her son Brooks earned his
Eagle Scout rank in July of 2013.
Future Bulldogs
Joel ’06 and Megan ’05 Honeycutt,
welcomed their second son, Shepard
Elias Honeycutt, into the world on July
29, 2013. Isaac Kellar Honeycutt is the
proud big brother.
Marsheena Evans Lance ’08, and her
husband Bruce had their first child,
Alia Danielle, on Jan. 1, 2014 in Ark.
Marsheena is employed as a payroll
manager with Dow Building Services.
Marriages
Shannon Earle ‘98, married Dr. John
Wells on June 29, 2013 in Mars Hill, N.C.
Earle is the Senior Director of Admissions
and Financial Aid at the University of
North Carolina Asheville.
Teresa Landreth Oney Smith ’72,
married James W. Smith in July of 2013
and they have recently moved from
Lexington, Ky., to Spring City, Tenn.
Teresa retired from teaching in 2010.
