Wendy’s High School Heisman Awarded to EC Senior
Congratulations to Evann Heidersbach ’09 who has been chosen as a state finalist for Ohio in the Wendy’s
High School Heisman program. The program celebrates the achievements of the nation’s top high school
seniors both in and out of the classroom.
The Wendy’s High School Award is known for being the most prestigious award at the high school level. The
award encourages future leadership by recognizing well-balanced lifestyles at an early age. Wendy’s will
display the 20 state finalists on a poster in all of their Ohio restaurants throughout 2009.
Christmas on Campus
Sixty-five first graders from various Elyria City Schools participated in Elyria Catholic’s traditional Christmas
on Campus in December. The morning began with a warm breakfast and hot chocolate followed by a
Christmas play performed by a team of EC students. The children also had the opportunity to decorate their
own Christmas cookies. The highlight of course was a visit from Santa himself and a pile of presents each
child received from their EC buddies. Thanks to a couple of anonymous gifts to the program, we were able to
provide the children a fantastic, fun-filled day with memories that will last a lifetime.
As tradition has it, on August 22nd,
122 freshmen were greeted by faculty
and staff as they entered the building
to begin their first day of classes.
The Elyria Catholic Drama Department
