YEAR 11
ROTARY YOUTH DRIVER AWARENESS
PROGRAM
This award winning program aims at
reducing the risks for that dangerous time
after young drivers first gain their “P” Plates.
Six workshops are conducted to raise
awareness of drivers and passengers.
Sessions cover topics such as stopping
distances, drug and alcohol consequences,
crash impacts at different speeds, how to be
a “good” passenger/friend in dangerous
circumstances etc.
Parent permission forms were distributed at
an assembly this week and students were
urged to attend and listen, learn and enjoy
being with their friends. Most students have
paid the $20 charge as part of their school
fees. Lunch will be provided. Students will
not be allowed to leave the Rec Centre
YEAR 12
Leaver or Graduate?
As I write this, Year 12s have around five and
a half weeks until they finish their academic
year. Only exams for the ATAR students, a bit
of revision time and time to complete the odd
assessment remain after that. It’s not much
time to ensure that you are a graduate and
not just a leaver. Remember that to graduate,
you need to meet the English standard (a few
still have not done that), to complete 20 units
and to have a C average over your best 16
units. If you are in danger of not meeting any
ever popular Healthy Choices Week.
Year 9 can be a challenging year and if
your son/daughter is experiencing difficulties
please do not hesitate to contact me.
