Angles and Distances
In the ATOS software, angles and distances are
either derived from primitives or calculated directly
from points of the polygon mesh. Fig. 18 shows the
measurement of a front end element in which
certain inside dimensions were directly determined
from the point cloud.

For the shower head in Fig. 19, first the eccentricity
of three cylinders was determined for assembly. It
is apparent that the axis coordinates of the inner,
the middle and the outer cylinder are barely
different. In a next step, the distance and the
angles of four pins lying on one radius were
checked.
