Dear friends
Hi!, My name is Zakumi and I am the
Official Mascot for the 2010 FIFA World
Cup South Africa. I will be your tour
guide through this – your official 2010
FIFA World Cup South Africa
Fan Guide.
Before we get going, let me take this
chance to welcome you to my wonderful
country. I am sure you are going to have
what we like to call a “jol” while you
are here.
“Jol” means party and it is just one of
the many South Africanisms you will pick
up during your travels over the next few
weeks. There is no need to worry about
not understanding local lingo, though, as
my friends at the 2010 FIFA World Cup
Organising Committee South Africa (more
commonly referred to as the OC) have
decided to make things easy for you.
They have put all the information you
will need for the FIFA World Cup –
including the meaning of words like
“jol” – in one place. And this is it – your
Fan Guide.
Want to know how to get around South
Africa? You can find out right here.
Want to know what to do when you are
not watching football? You will find that
here too.
Keep this guide with you while travelling
or going to the stadiums to watch
matches, and refer to it for contact details
or information. You‘ll find it indispensable.
In this guide, I will also be telling you
where you can find more detailed
information on various things and, at the
end, you will find a handy match schedule
as well as a list of important contact
numbers you might need.
Right, now that we have got
the introductions out of the
way, let’s get going!

Hooray! Your file is uploaded and ready to be published.

Saved successfully!

Ooh no, something went wrong!
