Residency Policy<br />

North Carolina law (G.S. 116-143.1) requires that “a le gal resident<br />

must have maintained his domicile in North Carolina for at least the<br />

twelve months immediately prior to his classification as a resident<br />

for tuition purposes.” You must also have proof of intent to remain<br />

in North Carolina. See staff in the Bailey Student Services Center or<br />

the Director of Admissions in the Bailey Student Services Center if<br />

you have questions concerning residency.<br />

Physicals<br />

Some programs have health and medical condition re quirements<br />

that are directly related to the essential func tions of the training/<br />

teaching environment. After admission, a complete physical<br />

examination may be required.<br />

Tuition Refund Policy<br />

A 75% tuition refund shall be made if<br />

the student officially drops from the<br />

class(es) prior to or on the official 10%<br />

point of the term. Refer to the College<br />

calendar in the current catalog or<br />

current student handbook for 10% dates<br />

each semester. Insurance and student<br />

activity fees are NOT refundable for<br />

classes dropped after the term begins.<br />

Federal regulations, if different, will<br />

overrule this policy.<br />

A 100% tuition and fee refund shall<br />

be made if the student officially drops<br />

prior to the first day of classes of the<br />

term as noted in the College calendar.<br />

Also, a student is eligible for a 100%<br />

refund if the class in which the student<br />

is registered is canceled.<br />

Tuition Refund Procedure<br />

To be eligible for a tuition refund, the<br />

student must:<br />

1. Register and pay tuition and fees.<br />

2. Drop the class online via WebAdvisor<br />

(WebAdvisor will not be available for<br />

drop/add after 12 noon on August 17), or process a “Drop/Add<br />

Registration Change Notice” form at the Student Success Service<br />

Center, Transfer Advising Center or Madison site on or before the<br />

10% point of the term as defined above.<br />
