Physicals Some programs have health and medical condition re quirements that are directly related to the essential func tions of the training/ teaching environment. Refer to the College calendar in the current catalog or current student handbook for 10% dates each semester. Insurance and student activity fees are NOT refundable for classes dropped after the term begins. Federal regulations, if different, will overrule this policy. A 100% tuition and fee refund shall be made if the student officially drops prior to the first day of classes of the term as noted in the College calendar. Also, a student is eligible for a 100% refund if the class in which the student is registered is canceled. Tuition Refund Procedure To be eligible for a tuition refund, the student must: 1. Register and pay tuition and fees. 2. Drop the class online via WebAdvisor (WebAdvisor will not be available for drop/add after 12 noon on August 17), or process a “Drop/Add Registration Change Notice” form at the Student Success Service Center, Transfer Advising Center or Madison site on or before the 10% point of the term as defined above. Door Prizes! New Student Welcome Important Financial Aid Dates Students receiving financial aid with their last name beginning with A–L may use their financial aid in the bookstore to purchase books and supplies beginning on August 10. Students with last name M-Z may use their financial aid in the bookstore to purchase books and supplies beginning on August 11. The last day financial aid students can charge in the bookstore is August 27. Financial aid refund (living expense) checks will be mailed to eligible students September 10. Please make sure your address is current in WebAdvisor so that your check will be mailed to the correct address. Attendance New students must attend an important student welcome session at 9 a.m. or at 6 p.m. on Tuesday August 17 in the Ferguson Auditorium. The welcome will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. A short session for transfer students will follow. It is mandatory that the student attend at least once during the first 10% of the course. Failure to attend during the first 10% will result in a grade of “No Show” (NS) to be awarded. The student will not be allowed to continue the course or receive a refund. How to check your student email Your username is: first name, middle initial, last name (no spaces or punctuation) Your password is: Your seven-digit student ID (printed on your registration form under your name) Sign in at mail.google.com/a/students.abtech.edu Activate your email Accounts are created within one business day after you apply. You must sign in to the account to activate your email. After you sign in, you will be asked to verify your account to activate your email. After activation, you should change your password. If you need assistance, read detailed email instructions at: abtech.edu/Student_Services/email/. You will also have access to other Google tools. You may even enable settings in your email such as email forwarding so that your student email is forwarded to another email account. A-B Tech provides email accounts for curriculum students. You are expected to activate your email account and be aware of messages sent to you. Check email for emergency notices, weather closings, and campus announcements; your registration, waitlist, billing, and financial aid status; communication with faculty and advisors; and important class information.
