10 years of Timmy History The Timmy Foundation has had a rich history of service; inspiring and empowering. As we celebrate this major milestone, it is important for us to remember our history. 1997 Dr. Chuck meets Mother Teresa on a trip to India Incorporation of The Timmy Foundation (March 6) Timmy becomes a publicly supported organization 1998 First Board of Directors meeting 1999 Julie Casey, first Executive Director, hired Dr. Chuck travels to Quito, Ecuador and meets Padre Carollo, beginning partnership with Fundacion Tierra Nueva. 2000 Dr. Chuck meets Dr. Marie Rene while on a trip to Haiti, beginning partnership with the Haitian Academy 2001 Scott Keller starts as new Executive Director First college chapter, IU Timmy Foundation Club 2002 First medical service trip to Honduras with IU Timmy Foundation Club, entirely orchestrated by the Timmy Foundation Dr. Chuck meets Scott Pegg, beginning partnership with Bebor School, Nigeria Dr. Chuck meets Jhon Paul Smith, beginning partnership with Poder Joven, Colombia First Public medical service trip to Ecuador 2003 First medical service trip to Jamaica with Hanover College pre-med students First medical and dental service trip to the Dominican Republic with IU Timmy Foundation Club Timmy begins sponsorship of full-time doctor at Haitian Academy Clinic Dedication of St. Luke’s Clinic at Haitian Academy Jessica Trimble hired as Volunteer and Missions Coordinator 2004 First medical service trips with University of Colorado at Boulder and Tufts University to the Dominican Republic First medical service trips with Ball State University and Purdue University students to Quito, Ecuador First High School service trip to Quito, Ecuador First College Retreat held in Indianapolis for college chapter leaders 2005 First Tufts University medical service trip to the Dominican Republic First DePauw University medical service trip to Quito, Ecuador Staff and Volunteers visit Poder Joven in Medellin, Colombia Exploratory medical trip to Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala to establish partnership with Pop-Wuj 2006 International Programs Coordinator, Chris Trani, hired Timmy expands staff to a total of three employees with the hire of Adam Clevenger as Associate Director for Development Moved into the new building located at 22 E. 22nd Street, Indianapolis 2007 First Davidson College medical service trip to Quito, Ecuador Celebrated 10 Year Anniversary on March 6, 2007 First medical service trip to Xela, Guatemala with Ball State University First medical service trip to Santo Domingo, Ecuador with University of Kentucky First Butler University medical service trip to Xela, Guatemala 5 Ten years of service; inspiring and empowering.
