[ 14 ] ANUNNAKI AWAKENING
Maria quickly sorted through her notes, readying herself for
the questions she expected from the studio. The team was a
blur of action around her.
Cathy began calling out the time, “In four, three, two, we’re
live.”
The light on Randy’s camera came to life and Maria was
speaking to Chip Benson back in the studio. Maria answered
Chip’s questions and did the analysis like the pro she was, but
all she could think about was Jack and get away day tomorrow.
Finally, finally Chip said, “Our White House Correspondent,
Maria Love. Thank you, Maria.”
Cathy gave the cut sign. Randy’s camera went dormant and
Maria was already unhooking herself from the equipment.
“So tomorrow is get-away day?” asked Cathy.
“Finally! I need a break from D.C.,” Maria answered.
“Have a great time, boss,” Randy chimed. “Which island?”
“We love them all, but this year it’s Oahu,the North Shore.
We have a condo in Haleiwa. Ten days of boring bliss.”
“You’re my hero,” Cathy confessed with envy. “I wish my
husband liked to travel. He says golf’s as good as travel.”
“We call Hawaiʻi our paradise. It’s where we can relax, be
ourselves. The concerns of the world seem to melt away there,”
Maria confided with a bit of dreaminess in her eyes.
“Do some melting for me,” Cathy smiled.
