All machines are taxed and insured
Help us save lives by making sure your child drives safely.
REMEMBER:
Complying with the law makes Ballymun a safer place for all
our children.
Failure to comply with the law can earn you penalty points
and can incur heavy court penalties.
Keep your car safer
Park in a busy, well-lit area.
If parking in daylight, think how it will look after dark.
Always lock valuables in the boot of your car.
If you feel you're being observed, move to another location.
Lock your car doors each time you leave your car.
Turn on your car alarm each time you park your car.
Have your car registration number entered on all windows of
your car.
Lockable wheel nuts are a good protection for wheels. If fitted,
use them.
Lockable wheel trims are also very effective in making your car
safer.
Unmuzzled dogs
HAVE YOU EVER FELT INTIMIDATED BY UNMUZZLED DOGS
IN BALLYMUN?
Certain species of dog have to be muzzled by law. Dog species
requiring muzzles are specified in the Tenancy Agreement for
Dublin City Council tenants.
Where the dog owner is a tenant, DCC may take action against
an owner who fails to muzzle their pet. Certain species are not
allowed to be held in flat complexes. If an offender is not a tenant
of DCC, then a dog warden can be notified and called to deal
with unmuzzled dogs.
Phone your local area office if you have concerns.

Vandalised trees
Fears have been growing about the damage to plaques at
the base of the trees planted by the “amaptocare” art
project in Ballymun. 271 trees have now been planted as
part of the first planting season, which ran until May this
year. The trees, featuring the words and thoughts of the
people who bought them have been planted in public
spaces throughout Ballymun. Each tree is an expression of
the individual who donated it and paid a minimum of
50 in an effort to improve the area and contribute to the
new Ballymun.
We must ensure that we, as a community mind these trees
so that they grow to maturity and enhance our new
environment.
If you see a vandalised plaque, please call the
amaptocare office on 01 883 2110.
